Multi-Week Pottery Classes

Multi-week classes are perfect for both total beginners and anyone who wants a refresher before jumping into a membership. With classes, you can become familiar with the studio, learn or review basic skills, and get to know the Community Mud crew.

  • Learn essential techniques for creating pottery on a wheel in our six-week Beginner Wheel Throwing class. Suitable for absolute beginners and those looking to refresh previously acquired skills, this course covers clay preparation, centering, shaping, finishing, surface decoration, and glazing. Gain confidence and unleash your creativity with clay in a supportive environment with experienced instructors.

  • Six-week classes are $285 per person.

    The class consists of weekly three hour sessions, no drop-in hours included.

FAQ

  • Handbuilding and Wheel classes include instruction, one 25lb bag of clay, tools, and accessories, plus all bisque and glaze firing. If you already have your own tools, use code HAVETOOLS at checkout.

    The studio bar is open during class times.

  • Classes are a great way to get your bearings and learn the basics of working with clay. But what you want to make is up to you! Our instructors will do their best to support you in your creative endeavors.

    Here are some popular options: planters, mugs, bowls, vases, cups, etc.

  • You may reschedule your class before week one of your class. If there is space available in another class, feel free to book that one and cancel the one you booked previously. You cannot reschedule once the class has begun.

  • If you miss a class, we will do our best to accommodate you joining another class for a make-up session. If the other classes are all full, this will not be possible, and you will simply not have the full number of classes.

    Class fees are not partially refundable for missed sessions.

  • You will not be able to work in the studio outside of your scheduled class time.

    You can come in during studio hours (see contact page) to pick up finished pieces.

    Once your class concludes, you will have the option to sign up for a membership as availability allows.

  • Yes, members may sign up for a class as availability allows. However, you are limited to one 25lb bag of clay for the duration of the class since firing fees are included. Anything you make during the class, but that was not ready to fire before the end of the six weeks will need to be added in Kilnfire.

  • We do not offer kids classes at this time.
